Nestlé Taiwan × Plastics Industry Development Center | 2022

Driven by our ambition for industry-wide carbon disclosure, we achieved Taiwan’s first-ever Carbon Footprint Label for ground coffee.

Starting with the carbon footprint assessments for Nescafé’s eight local products, this project ignited our journey toward Net Zero. We launched a collaborative learning roadmap with local suppliers, turning data collection into a shared mission for transparency; unlocked the ability to manage emissions with precision through data visibility; and bridged the gap for our local partners by equipping them with the ISO standards and expertise needed to compete on a global stage.

Building on this foundation, we continue to engage with industry partners to open the doors for carbon transparency across the entire local coffee sector, scaling our impact to build a more accountable future.

As the Project Owner, the defining challenge was navigating complex stakeholder engagement for this new initiative. My primary mission was Change Management: bridging diverse, often competing internal and external interests through strategic communication to forge a shared value.

Beyond the certification, we focused on operational transformation. We transitioned from fragmented data silos to a scalable carbon accounting framework, turning a complex first-time requirement into a repeatable, circular process. This not only mitigated future compliance risks but also fundamentally shifted our culture toward a data-driven, Net Zero mindset, ensuring the project serves as a lasting blueprint for all future expansions.
